~ Year 2374, few weeks after retaking Deep Space Nine ~

Captain Rufus Jacob is in his ready room, and viewing the war chart at the large display panel on to his left. He's sitting behind his desk. He did some projections that the supply that the frontline need will likely decrease their chances of winning the war--by little. Rufus decided to use the shortest supply route to Deep Space Nine, however, intelligence already stated that small Dominion ships are trying to cripple the supply line to DS9.

The Ambassador had a small skirmish with Dominion during the Yurrel Incident, though, unsure if their modifications back then will work now. The ship had little shield upgrade to counter the Dominion phased polaron beam. Nevertheless, the risk is worth it, additionally, the ship was heavily modified to a warship back during the Federation-Cardassiann war. Rufus believes that they shouldn't have a problem with the Dominion. As a precaution, Rufus ordered Swift to composed ann encoded message to the station warning them that they will use the shortest supply route.

Some time later, Captain Benjamin Sisko enters the Operations Room. Major Kira Nerys caught him in her eye sights and stops him.

"Benjamin, our supply ship, the Ambassador, messaged us that they will be taking the shorter route to here," Kira informed him.

Sisko looks at his Bajoran officer, and is unmoved by the news.

"I think we need to bring the Defiant to escort it."
"I'm sure the Ambassador can handle itself, based on its history," Sisko sounds confident.

Kira doesn't believe that he would leave the ship to fend off a small group of Dominion ships. Dax, whom opened the message, expresses her concern.

"Ben, the Ambassador is a very old ship, plus, our long range patrol fleet may have spotted a Jem'Hadar cruiser. Worst case scenario."
"I can take the ship."

Sisko realised that the Venture's small fleet holding the station.

"Very well, Major," Sisko gives in. "It's your call, and make sure both are to return in one piece."

~ 5 Hours Later

The Defiant is at high warp. Lieutenant Commander Dax is at the helm, eyeing for the Ambassador, and trouble. An alert went off, indicating something bad is on-going.

"Major, long range sennsor is detecting five Jem'Hadar fighters, the Ambassador is under attack," Dax reported.
"Just what I was expecting," Kira said. "Red alert!"

Meanwhile, aboard the Ambassador, the ship is holding the battle strong.

"I'm detecting the Defiant approaching at high warp," Swift informed the crew.
"Status of shield?" Shana looks Logan.
"Eighty-one percent and holding," Logan glanced at the first officer, while answer, and return to monitor Ops.

Rufus sees that two of the ships are right in front of them

"Swift, quantum torpedoes," Rufus ordered. "Target the Jem'Hadars right in front of us and fire."

Swift inputs two commands on her tactical console, and two volley of quantum torpedoes launched away. It just destroys the two ships in just single volley each. The ship is taking a direct hit.

The Defiant drops out of warp, and did saw the Ambassador launched quantum torpedoes and shield bubble around the Ambassador. Dax is surprised that the old ship is equipped with quantum torpedo, curiously, Dax scanned the Ambassador.

"Major, their shielding managed to absorbed the polaron damaged," Dax said. "I'm surprised that they managed to have that kind of upgrade."

Kira leaned her back against her seat.

"So, they can handle themselves," Kira expected the Ambassador to suffer extensive damage by now.

Kira snaps her mind back to the threats in the area.

"Tactical, target the ship which the Ambassador has lock on, fire when ready."
